On October 7, from 11 to 18, the Korilusfestival will take place in Wittenstein Activity Museum (Tallinna tn 9/11, Paide).
A versatile program and a large selection of food, both from the forest and the garden, await you!

11.00-18.00 Different workshops are open in Wittenstein Living museum. It is possible to buy products made by local craftsmen.
You can make a metal souvenir with the blacksmith working in the forge
You can make silver jewelry with Silversmith Anne Reinberg
Leather master Hele Kingisepp does a leather key chain or necklace making workshop.
Folk medicine is introduced by Jana Olesk, a herbalist and the hostess of Källomäe farm
Imbi Karu advises on various knitting techniques.
Reet Meimre conducts a spinning workshop and advises on spinning
Natalia Haug conducts a brooch workshop

Maarika Männili’s exhibition “Mushrooms in our forests” opened
13.00 “The best apple jam workshop” will be conducted by Källomäe farm hostess and award-winning jam master Jana Olesk. (The price of the workshop is €9)
14.00 Lecture “Drinking culture in Estonia in the Middle and Early Modern Ages. Honey drink mead”
Senior researcher of Tallinn University Inna Põltsam-Jürjo will be the lecturer. (The lecture is free)
15.30 Nöösker koja mead making workshop – Workshop in Paide: The making of mead (Workshop price €10))

On August 19, we invite everyone to the Paide Vallimägi!
🇪🇪 From 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., a day introducing the Järva Malev will be held in Vallimägi. It is possible to get acquainted with different weapons.
Naiskodukaitse offers delicious food to the participants
Allies are also present, showing off their equipment and weaponry.
At 12:00 and 14:00, the bus takes those interested to try their hand at the Eivere shooting range.
🇪🇪 At 16:00, the town of Paide invites you to Vallimäe for a dance evening. Traffic solist SILVER LAAS will perform together with the Paide city orchestra. Come and enjoy the eve of the re-independence day on the Paide rampart.
Participation in the event is free.

Book about Järvamaa manors will be presented at the Wittenstein Activity Museum

On 18th of August (Friday) starting at 5:00 p.m., a book about Järvamaa manors will be presented at the Wittenstein Activity Museum. In picturesque Järva County, there are magnificent manorsand pristine parks, magnificent castles such as Väinjärve or Kolu, real noble manors such as Roosna-Alliku, Purdi or Aruküla, ruins reminiscent of former glory such as Mäo, and mysterious or even gloomy and unearthly manor villages and church gardens.
✨The author of the book Alo Särje, has previously published a series of comprehensive accounts of Estonian manors and manors, most recently “Hiiumaa Manors”.

The book’s author Alo Särg and Argo publishing house will be present at the presentation in Paide.

The book is on sale at a discounted price on the day of the presentation. Possibility to purchase other books by the same author

Opinion Festival takes place from 11th to 12th of August in Paide. Wittenstein Activity Museum and Time Centre Wittenstein is open from 10.00-18.00. You can take part of different workshops, concert and night journey.

New dollhouse exhibition in Wittenstein Activity museum

A new exhibition of Swedish, English and Estonian dollhouses is now open in the Activity Museum (Tallinn street 9/11, Paide city)!

The dollhouses are from the collection of Heli Mänd. Come and take a look at interesting dollhouses!
The exhibition can be visited during the opening hours of the museum Mon-Fri 10.00-18.00!
