Wittensteini Tegevusmuuseum kutsub loeng-kohtumisele!
23. novembril (laupäeval) kell 13.00 loeng-kohtumine teemal “Paide positsioon Saksa ordu valitsemises” Wittensteini Tegevusmuuseumis (Tallinna tn 9/11, Paide linn)
Külla tuleb Tallinna Linnaarhiivi ja Tallinna Ülikooli teadur Juhan Kreem.
Lisaks tutvustab Kreem mahukat raamatut „Ordu sügis. Saksa ordu 16. sajandi Liivimaal“, mida saab kohapeal soodsalt soetada.

From 14:00 to 19:00 we welcome everyone to the WITTENSTEIN HANDICRAFT AND CHRISTMAS TASTE MARKET, which will take place from the Wittenstein Activity Museum to Paide Central Square. A wide selection of handicrafts and food.
You can enjoy both salty and sweet Christmas flavors on the spot. 🍲🥨
There is also a competition where visitors choose the most special Christmas flavor. Prizes for the best!
✨The beginning of Advent is the best time to start thinking about Christmas gifts, and you can find various gift packages on the market. Why not put handicrafts in Santa’s gift bag?
✨You can make Christmas gifts yourself in the craftsmen’s chambers of the Wittenstein Activity Museum – you can do leather work, make silver jewelry, forgings, etc.
🎶 at 15:00 there will be a Christmas anticipation concert in the Church of the Holy Cross in Paide
🎆At 16:00 we will light the lights on the Christmas tree in the central square of Paide together. The church teacher and the mayor will share the consecrated Christmas fire, and local music groups will perform.

As part of the Estonian-wide initiative of Open Handicraft Workshops, we invite everyone to the Järva County Handicraft Day on October 19 at the Wittenstein Activity Museum!
9.30-10.00 gathering, welcome coffee.
10.00 Opening of the Järvamaa Craft Day, craft sale and exhibitions.
10.15 Lecture “Weaving the fabric of linen folk costume today” – lecturer Eva-Liisa Kriis.
11.15 Lecture “Cleaning folk clothes” – lecturer Svetlana Saare.
12.30 Lunch break (on your own)
13.00 activity in the workshops:
*Knitting the leg band – Silvia Aarma, Margot Marks.
*Knitting a letter belt – Tiia Kontus.
14.00 Closing the day and thanking the instructors.

✨On 24th of September, the Wittenstein Activity Museum (Tallinn tn 9/11, Paide) will host the Day of Nations!
Different workshops are open from 17:00 to 19:00.
The craft traditions of the nationalities living in Järva County are introduced.
At 19:00-20:00 Conversation evening “Why is it good to live in Estonia?”
Speaker Aljona Suržikova. Representatives of ethnic minorities living in Järva County will participate in the discussion.
At 20:15 Concert “The music of the nations in our midst”
Lembit Saarsalu, Olav Ehala and solist Hanna-Liina Võsa will perform.
Conversation evening and concert FREE, participation in workshops paid.
The event takes place within the framework of the year of cultural wealth.

An embroidery course begins at the Wittenstein Activity Museum
The year 2024 has been declared the year of folk costumes by the Estonian Folk Art and Handicraft Union. Since 2005, the theme of the year has been chosen to introduce a wider and deeper field of handicrafts. In the framework of this, thematic study days, competitions and exhibitions are organized and specialist literature is published. The theme of the years 2024 and 2025 is squared in folk dress. This year’s theme baton has been handed over to the folk costume for two years. The theme of the year, National costume squared, means that the theme of national costume is highlighted in an amplified way, with soul and depth. There are two years, so there are more activities within them than before – double, multiplied, squared.
In the autumn season, an embroidery course will start in the clothing part of the exhibition of the Wittenstein Activity Museum (Paide linn, Tallinna Street 9/11). During the course under the supervision of Kadi Vingisaar, master of folk costume and master of creative applications of cultural heritage of UT VKA and consultant of the Järvamaa folk costume advisory board, you can make embroidery for the sleeves, shirts, tanus, linings or aprons of folk costumes.
The course takes place on four Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (14.09.2024; 05.10.2024; 16.11.2024 and 07.12.2024).
The price of one meeting is €35. The price of materials is added.
